Olde
Heritage Builders in Eastern Wake County is a family business. Founded in 1984 by
George and Betty Ray on a foundation of honesty and a strong work ethic, the company
is now managed by second generation homebuilder and unlimited licensed contractor
Chad Ray and his wife, Jodi, a licensed real estate broker. Clearly, Olde Heritage
is "family-run," but dig a little deeper and you'll find that it's also very "family-focused."
As Chad grew up, he was always involved in the business. The business was centered
on the family. The Ray’s have always treated everyone of their clients as if they
were family as well. A family business survives on its reputation. Treat others
like you want to be treated is something they have always lived by.
The Rays believe in the health and well-being of families—not just their own family
but also the families of their longtime trade partners and the families of their
customers. Many families have built more than one home and many trade partners have
worked with Olde Heritage over 20 years. Olde Heritage is working towards its homes
being as sustainable as possible.
Chad says, "As an outdoor enthusiast, I feel strongly about my responsibility to
be a steward of the land. And as a builder, I can get behind building green because
a green home is a better built home. We even say it right in our mission statement:
'Build Better, Build Green.' We pledge that every home we build will help protect
the environment, will use renewable and/or recycled products, and will be comfortable,
durable, highly energy efficient, safe, and healthy." Old time traditions concerning
how to treat others mixed with high performance home building practices creates
a successful environment for everyone.
